愛滋媽媽也可餵母乳？ 醫師：不應冒險
嬰兒喝母乳好處多多，一向大力提倡母乳哺育的國民健康署日前表示，即使是有愛滋病的媽媽，也可以純母乳哺育，有助於減少垂直感染。不過這項說法遭到醫界嚴正駁斥，強調愛滋媽媽的母乳可能也會有愛滋病毒，會因此傳染給小孩，除非是配方奶取得不易的發展中國家，否則不建議哺餵母乳。
8月第一個星期是國際母乳周，國民健康署跟進世界衛生組織建議，積極推動母乳哺育、母嬰同室政策，同時也指出，即使母親是愛滋病毒感染者，也鼓勵母嬰同室以及純母乳哺育。
不過這項說法醫界並不認同，台大醫院小兒部感染科主治醫師呂俊毅說，愛滋媽媽的母乳中可能會有愛滋病毒，餵母奶可能使得寶寶因此感染，因此不建議餵母奶。他說：『(原音)母乳裡頭的病毒會傳染給小孩，這個是很久以前就知道、很明確的事情，如果我們愛滋媽媽不要餵母乳的話，寶寶就減少了這個風險，不餵母乳要餵什麼？就是餵配方奶。』
呂俊毅說，除非是在資源匱乏的發展中國家，無法提供足夠、乾淨的配方奶，寶寶不喝母奶的話可能連存活都很困難，才考慮餵母奶。
疾管署副署長莊人祥指出，為了避免寶寶感染愛滋病，疾管署希望愛滋媽媽不要哺餵母乳，因此目前針對愛滋媽媽每年補助新台幣1萬2千元的嬰兒配方食品，或是等值兌換券。
